Deputy Agron Gjekmarkaj reacted to the clash with the police in yesterday's protest, where he lost consciousness and was taken to the hospital.

Gjekmarkaj described the police statement and the criminal proceedings as insulting.

He stated that he did not attack any police officer, but only defended himself.

The deputy has raised accusations that he was violated by the police officers, despite the fact that he informed them about the positions he holds.

I would not have reacted to what happened to me yesterday in the protests if the state police had not insulted me twice with their public and disinforming statement!

I don't like or seek victimization! I have never even sought or encouraged physical encounters in my life! I have never attacked anyone! Yesterday I just defended myself. Standing in front of a small car with my companion, the guard worker, who was also mistreated even though he showed them his identification document, I was surrounded by a large group of policemen! You said don't touch me, I'm Agron Gjekmarkaj, Deputy Speaker of the Assembly of the Republic, MP, University lecturer with gentleness and humor, I don't stand out for physical strength, I don't do gym, so be careful! They pushed me brutally, with a lot of force, and even broke the mirror of the car, almost lifting me into the air! My companion and a boy from Lezha pulled me through the police with great effort as I felt my breathing slowing down! As soon as I got out of the crowd of policemen pulling me to the others, I lost my senses! I didn't feel bad that I had health problems, but as a result of the actions of the police! I didn't leave the protest because I wanted to leave, but they forced me, I didn't leave to go to coffee or home, but to the hospital!

I remember the ferocity in the sight of two or three police officers, their zeal as in the past when the opposition MPs were arrested in 1946, it seemed unfair that someone dares to protest against their power because they see power as the thing them, why not also as an instrument of violence! However, they could not push an MP like that without a political order!

I take advantage of this sad occasion to thank all those who are near me, the protesters, the democrats and citizens of Lezhe, the leaders and MPs of the DP, the doctors of the military hospital and those of QSUT for the examinations and service, I thank the friends and acquaintances from the place of the World for the flood of messages that I received from them, still unable to respond individually!

I express deep regret for all the injured and detained who strive for a better Albania who do not receive the attention that I received! We are not afraid!
