The former Minister of Defense, Fatmir Mediu, spoke this evening about the "Gërdeci" case and the testimonies of the witnesses before the jury.

Mediu said that the evidence given proved his innocence, while he accused the prosecution.

"We are in court. There are two parties, the prosecution and the defense. We submitted our demands for witnesses. The prosecution did not give any justification why it called all those witnesses who have so far shown that they had nothing to do with anything that incriminates the minister, zero! When you stand in front of the witness, you must have the space to ask the right questions. If you give all the time to the prosecution, this is not a fair process. Justice is not statistics and neither is the media. Justice is not public opinion", he said.

The former minister emphasized in the interview with Denis Mingë that he has no responsibility in placing the gunpowder.

"It worries me that we are not at that stage to have a justice that respects the law. I am prepared for innocence. I have no doubts that every decision I made was legal.
