PHOTO/ Rama congratulates Kosovo on Independence: Regret that I will not be at

Prime Minister Edi Rama has shared photos from his visit to Kosovo yesterday, where he congratulated the country on its Independence Day. In his post, Rama says that he will not be able to attend the rally for the four former KLA leaders who are being tried in The Hague.

"GOOD MORNING and with the PHOTO ALBUM of my visit to Pristina yesterday, I wish Kosovo a happy independence with the regret that I cannot be present today at the popular manifestation of solidarity with the four KLA hostages in the hell of international (in)justice in The Hague," Rama's post reads.

The protest will be held at 2:00 PM, at Skanderbeg Square in Pristina. Former Kosovo President Hashim Thaçi, former Speakers of Parliament Kadri Veseli and Jakup Krasniqi, and former MP Rexhep Selimi are accused of war crimes and crimes against humanity, to which all four have pleaded not guilty.

After the closing arguments, the case will be sent to the jury. The judges have three months to reach a decision on the case, or to request an extension of the deadline for reaching a decision. /CNA
