The Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, praised the Democratic Party candidate for Tirana municipality, Roland Bejkos, who is his opponent in the May 14 local elections.

Veliaj said that Bejko is strong, knows how to organize and cannot be intimidated.

He stated in an interview with journalist Arbër Hitaj that he created this impression from his first political contest in the district of Gjirokastra.

"Mr. Bejko is a very strong candidate. I have started my political battle in the district of Gjirokastra and Bejko, except that he is literally right-wing in ideology, thankfully we have a right-wing opponent, he is really strong, knows how to organize, he is not someone who can be intimidated, if someone tells him do so, withdraw from it. From the experience I have, I have not met him for years, but in my first battle in Gjirokastër, he seems to me a strong candidate, a strong bone ", said Veliaj.
