The US envoy for the Western Balkans, Gabriel Escobar, has spoken about the opposition's attacks on the American ambassador in Tirana, Yuri Kim.

Escobar said in a television interview that these attacks are personal and unjustified.

He emphasized that Ambassador Kim in her public statements is never based on her own opinions, but always speaks on behalf of the American Secretary of State and the President of the USA.

"It is never a personal mission. I would say that in the region, all our ambassadors operate with the full support of the Secretary of State and the President. All of them are acting in accordance with our values ??and policies. And it is unfortunate that some of our ambassadors in the region have come under personal attack. First of all, I think it is unjustified.

But secondly, I think it's also undiplomatic because what our ambassador is doing is exactly what the Secretary wants to do. It's not something personal. It is a matter of politics. I think everyone should recognize this. And actually, if I had to add a personal opinion, we have one of the best foreign service ambassadors serving in Albania. So it's not a personal matter. It's something professional," Escobar emphasized./ CNA.al
