US President Joe Biden has made a blunder during his visit to Ireland, which has caused controversy in Britain.

During the stop at an Irish pub, Biden tried to honor his cousin, Rob Kearney. The latter is a rugby player whose Irish team beat the dominant New Zealand All Blacks in 2016.

But instead of saying that his cousin won against the "All Blacks" team, the American President said that he won against the "Black and Tans".

"Black and Tans" is a derogatory name given to British police recruits assigned to fight the Irish Republican Army in the 1920s.

"He was a hard (eg.hell) rugby player and he beat the Black and Tans," Biden said.

Thus he, unintentionally, because of a blunder, got involved in a debate that touches the political grudges of Great Britain and Ireland.

In the meantime, we remember that this is not the only blunder of the US President, as Biden has messed up other times, causing laughter and making the rounds of the network./ CNA.al
