"Parliamentarism must be restored"/ Kalaja: Parliament risks turning into a chessboard

Former candidate for MP, Aulon Kalaja, today shared a critical stance towards parliamentarism in Albania.

Invited to the "Noë" show with journalist Erla Mëhilli, Kalaja stated that the parliament should exist in the government and not the other way around, which according to him is happening in the country.

According to Kala, this risks turning the Parliament into a chessboard.

"Powers in Albania are not separated. Parliamentarism must be restored. It is very simple. Parliament must control the executive. With the 'checks and balances' principle, which we have taken from the Anglo-Saxons, in all Western republics it is the parliament that controls the government. Meanwhile, in Albania, it is the government that controls the parliament. This is the fact. We demand that the parliament be returned to the chessboard", said Kalaja./ CNA
