"We will bring radical change in agriculture"/ Berisha: Every village

The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, during a meeting with the farmers of Dimal, where he presented the details of his governing program related to the economy, made the following promise.

This promise is related to powdered milk, for which he stated that the tax will be imposed where it "deserves it".

The opposition leader also accused Prime Minister Edi Rama of destroying the healthcare system and promised to double the budget for healthcare and agriculture.

"You are witnesses that in 2006-2013 we invested a lot in the infrastructure of villages, and of course we did not complete it.

But we had a commitment and a principle and we have it again: every village should have the infrastructure of city neighborhoods.

What do I mean by this? There should be roads, water supply, sewage, energy supply, school and health center.

We moved forward strongly in this direction. In those years, we built or reconstructed over 8,800 kilometers in rural areas. There are still 3-4 thousand more left. We will complete them too and there will be no village without roads similar to those in city neighborhoods.

Friends, I believe you heard that Albanians, the man who promised them free healthcare, destroyed the system and today you pay for your health, and that of your family, 3 or 4 times more than any other EU nation.

The latest INSTAT statistics show that Albanians pay 820 million euros per year for healthcare. Albanians spend 220 million euros per year on bread alone. So, today, 4 times more is spent on medicines in Albania.

What is our commitment to you? Our commitment to you is this. First, the list of reimbursable drugs will be the list that the Italian government pays for Italian citizens. This is our promise to Albanian citizens.

We will double the budget for health, just as we will double it for agriculture.

Today, health care is, unfortunately, somehow under the control of the mafia.

What happens today? The patient goes to a public hospital with an emergency, and this case is concrete, it happened to a colleague of mine, his neck artery was blocked. He went to a public hospital, they diagnosed him, they told him he had a blockage. Now they told him, to remove it, we won't remove it, you have to go to a private hospital. He went to a private hospital and paid 2-3 thousand euros.

The public hospital has all the resources, but the money is divided there. This ends. This degraded health system will be punished and I guarantee you that you will have the health system you deserve.

And the money you will pay will be health insurance, which is mandatory for all citizens in Europe and the world, while the rest will be paid for by the state.

So here too we mark a big change.

For your children, schools will be modernized.

I assure teachers that there will be no cuts in the number of teachers, what will happen will be cuts in the number of students in classes. Classes will be reduced to 20-25 students. Teachers will have a minimum salary of 1,500 euros.

There will be no average to go to university.

After graduating from university, the government will pay social security for those who employ young people.

"So, friends, this is our program that creates a new opportunity for every citizen and returns the money to them," said Berisha.

On the other hand, Forza Italia party MP Erica Mazzeti participated again in the Democratic Party's electoral meeting, where she praised the importance of relations between Albania and Italy.

"We are proud to be friends. There is a deep friendship between Italy and Albania, and this friendship must be strengthened even more. And we can only do this with Prime Minister Berisha. Italy has never abandoned you and will not abandon you now. Once again, I am sure that we will do great things together. The Italian center-right government is focusing a lot on neighboring and friendly countries, to work together. Because work gives dignity to man, and we want to give dignity to all European citizens and our neighbors.

"We welcome you to the big family of the European People's Party, where we do things together," said the Italian MP.

Berisha has called on farmers to join this initiative for change./ CNA
