Celibashi: From the contract with DHL, we saved 3 million euros

The State Election Commissioner, Ilirjan Celibashi, stated today that 3 million euros have been saved from the contract with the postal company DHL, contracted to distribute ballot envelopes to Albanians in the diaspora.

Asked how much money was saved from the contract with DHL and what this money saved shows about the process, Celibashi said it was a model process.

"The external voting process has gone very well. I understand the claims of any electoral entity regarding this process, without any problems. But also calculating the effect of these problems, the external voting process has been carried out in a model manner. If I am not mistaken, there are about 3 million euros saved," said the head of the CEC.

Regarding other expenses that the post-election process may require, Celibashi said that the CEC will not request additional funds, as it is required by the contract.

"The CEC will not request additional funds for this process. We have saved enough funds from the contract," Celibashi said. /CNA
