A pregnant mother from Shkodra has been sentenced to one month and 20 days in prison, after failing to pay a fine imposed by the court for child abandonment.

Regarding the arrest of the young woman, the member of the Presidency of the Democratic Party, Jozefina Topalli, reacted with harsh tones.

She said in a meeting in Mirdita that the judge who gave the prison sentence should be imprisoned instead of the expectant mother.

"In which country where minimum human rights are spoken, a mother with an 8-day-old baby who has just been born can be put in prison. Shouldn't you put that judge in jail instead of the mother?

What about three days ago, did they kill the other mother with her granddaughter, in the war with the gangs? If we say that the Justice Reform is a success, we are lying to ourselves," Topalli emphasized./ CNA.al
