Through a post on Instagram, the American Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, has given details about his visit to our country.

He says that he discussed with President Bajram Begaj and Prime Minister Edi Rama about our support for her path to the EU succession, as well as the fight against corruption and organized crime.

Last week I made my first trip as Secretary to Albania, a longtime US partner and NATO ally, and then joined @vpHarris at the Munich Security Conference.

In Albania, with President Bajram Begaj and Prime Minister Edi Rama, I discussed our support for its path towards EU succession, as well as the fight against corruption and organized crime. I also met the US embassy team working every day on top foreign policy priorities, including the resettlement of thousands of Afghan allies. Albania's assistance in this effort embodies its deep-rooted humanity and tradition of caring for and sheltering those in need.

In Munich, I engaged with global leaders to underscore our support for Ukraine, discuss our work to achieve lasting peace and security in the Middle East, and emphasize our unwavering commitment to transatlantic security. I joined the German Foreign Minister and the Indian Minister of External Affairs for a public forum where we addressed the ongoing threats to global peace and security. And at a meeting of foreign ministers on the sidelines of the conference, my G7 counterparts and I strongly condemned Russia's aggression against Ukraine. We left stronger and more united to face today's challenges./ CNA
