The chairman of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, gave instructions to the democrats during the Presidency meeting.

Berisha requested that DP members sit down with citizens to inspire and motivate them to join a movement that restores free voting.

He admitted that all levels of DP have distrust and declared that the duty of the opposition is to restore the lost trust.

Excerpt from the statement:

Now I want to be open with you, and all our structures. In a democratic movement and every movement it usually happens that sometimes you lead, sometimes others lead you.

Those tens of thousands, no more people who come when we call them, they seek leadership. Now, not to call them for a grand rally, say, but for a movement that restores free suffrage.

Each of you has every right to sit with every citizen, to sit with every democrat, to inspire and motivate them. Sit down, convince him that this battle is decisive. That there is no second way with Edi Rama in power to vote freely.

That the next elections with Edi Rama, are nothing but a poor company and his 4th term in office. And that would be a real tragedy.

I know all levels of DP have mistrust. We are people. I know, that aside, the fear factor is real. I know that in addition certain interests are real, individual.

But we, regardless of these, must do everything. To invest day and night in dialogue with citizens, in dialogue with our membership, with our allies. To fulfill this mission.

What are we looking for? Do we seek power for power? No, we do not seek power for power's sake.

We demand that Albanian citizens vote freely. We demand that the state not be an electoral state. We ask that the gangs do not terrorize the citizens.

There are no more just demands than these, no more just cause than this.

You have rightly defended, we have rightly denounced dozens and dozens of causes, but now the cause of all causes is this: the free vote of the Albanians.

Edi Rama has proven that he does not accept a free election process. Edi Rama has been accused of stealing, stealing votes and not winning. Edi Rama has proven that he turned the elections into a farce. Now is the time to focus with all our courage, with all our sacrifices, with all our capacities in solving this cause.

We are the party of the Constitution, the rule of law, freedoms and rights. Edi Rama does not respect any of these. There is no future.
