The chairman of the DP group of vula, Gazment Bardhi, has opposed the decision of the Presidency of the DP of vula to hold elections on July 29 of this year for the new head of the DP.

Bardhi said in an interview with Alba Alishani that the elections on July 29 violate the PD statute.

According to him, this process is not transparent and leads to another division of the party.

"The organization of an election process for the chairman of the party, in the procedure that was approved by the Presidency of the Party, contradicts the statute of the Democratic Party. If it were possible from a statutory point of view, I have no objection. But for me to organize a non-transparent process that leads to another division of the party, this should not be the position of the General Secretary of the DP.

First, the membership certification according to the decision made by the Presidency must be done by the head of the branch and the working group he sets up. So, the head of a branch appoints two or three associates who determine whether a member enjoys the right to vote or not.

First, it is an anti-statutory process because who enjoys the right to vote is determined by the party's statute and if a member has changed parties, that is the claim that at these moments there are membership movements within the DP, it is the heads of the branches that gather for take disciplinary action. This cannot be the subject will of an individual. In 71 DP branches, only 29 of them have an elected chairman, 5 have a commanding chairman and the rest have contact points of the party organization for the campaign and cannot exercise the office of branch chairman.

The second reason has to do with the electoral commission. If we proceed with the commission that is in force, we can see that most of them have left the official Democratic Party and aligned themselves with Berisha. If the statute is implemented today, the elections will be managed by a commission controlled by Berisha. Before these circumstances, the process will conflict with the statute", said Bardhi./ CNA.al
