The Democratic Party has proposed to set a vital minimum of 200 euros for every citizen.

The draft law was submitted to the Presidency of the Assembly by the DP deputy, Albana Vokshi.

In a statement to the media, Vokshi said that the government should accept this proposal of the opposition, since according to her, the state budget can afford this initiative because it has enough money to provide the citizens with a normal life.

"We filed, and a working group was set up at the DP and today we come with a proposal that asks the parliament to approve it, within a 3-month period, to determine the minimum living wage. Albania, as the only country without a living minimum, will have this defined in relation to the income that ensures every citizen the purchase of minimum food and the provision of some social-cultural services. We all remember that Rama in the opposition shouted for the minimum wage, but now he rejects the opposition's amendments.

Of course, this requires funds and money, but the government has. Why should Rama increase the salaries for the governors, and not for the citizens since he takes the budget money to the incinerators and uses it to buy votes. Every payment that has been below the floor until today will be 200 euros. This will be the minimum they will receive and they will be provided with a dignified life to ensure a normal life", said Vokshi./ CNA.al
