Former democratic deputy Arben Ristani has spoken about the PD protest, which is expected to take place on February 11.

Ristani has stated that the cause of the protest has to do with bad governance and the latest scandal with the arrest of McGonigal and his connections with Rama.

According to the former deputy, this was the boiling point, or the icing on the cake, adding that there are many other reasons to protest, such as corruption, poverty, the departure of Albanians from the country.

 “Kauza e protestës ka të bëjë me keqqeverisjen. Keqqeverisja është e shumëanshme, në shumë plane, por keqqeverisja kulmoi me atë që është cilësuar nga Partia Demokratike, nga shqiptarët, por edhe nga personalitetet amerikane, si një thikë në zemër të marrëdhënieve diplomatike midis Shqipërisë dhe SHBA-ve, pra rasti i fundit i agjentit të FBI-së dhe korruptimit të tij nga kryeministri Rama.

Kjo është pika e vlimit, kjo është qershia mbi tortë, sepse shkaqet për të protestuar janë të shumta. Si kryesore, unë do të përmendja prishjen e sistemit demokratik në Shqipëri, mosfunksionimin e institicioneve, gjë që ka sjellë shtim të varfërisë, shtim të korrupsionit, largim të shqiptarëve nga Shqipëria.
