Alimehmeti withdrew from the race/ Kelliç's message: We will bring

Ilir Alimehmeti has withdrawn from the primaries race, making Belind Këlliçi the official DP candidate for the municipality of Tirana in the May 14 elections. 

In a statement to the media, Kelliçi said that everyone together will bring an American model and he is confident that he will defeat the current mayor, Erion Veliaj. 

“Sot shqiptaret janë të befasuar nga ky standard i vendosur në politikën shqiptare. Fokusin kryesor e kam pasur te baza dhe anëtarësia e Partisë Demokratikë. Kjo ka qenë një fushatë civile e qytetare, jemi sërish me njëri-tjetrin. Jam i bindur se ky është një ogur i mirë në politikën shqiptare. Jam krenar që kam qenë pjesë e këtij procesi dhe për ta çuar një standard më tutje ne sot publikisht do adaptojmë një formë amerikane të garës, formën presidenciale. Ashtu si në Amerikë kam kënaqësinë më të madhe sot që kur i kam hyrë këtij rrugëtimi kam qenë i bindur se do ta mundja Veliajn në garën për Tiranën, me Alimehmetin si krahun tim të djathtë dhe nënkryetar të bashkisë së Tiranës që nga 14 maji ne do sjellim një model krejtësisht ndryshe.
