The head of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, convened the presidency of the Democratic Party in a meeting at the blue headquarters.

The leader of the democrats spoke about the primaries in DP, showing that about 55 thousand members and sympathizers of DP voted in this race.

He emphasized that this process exceeded all other votes by 15% and that never in this party have so many votes been cast as in the Primary.

“Ky ishte një proces i cili zhvillohej për herë të parë me këtë proporcion, transparencë dhe me këtë pjesëmarrje. PD në përputhje me përcaktimet e statutit të rithemelimi të saj të 11 Dhjetorit bëri realitet premtimin e saj dhe sanksionimin e këtij premtimi se të zgjedhurit, pushtetarët vendor dhe ata qendrorë do zgjidheshin me votën e anëtarësisë dhe simpatizantët të saj.

Në garë pati mbi 200 kandidatura në tërësi veprimtarë të shquar të vendosur politik të PD , por në garë morën pjesë gjithashtu veprimtarë të shoqërisë civile, përfaqësues ekslentë të shqiptarëve në emigracion.
