The Chairman of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, in today's "Poltoran" in front of the Prime Minister's Office, spoke about the 35th anniversary of the publication of Rilindja Demokratike.

Berisha said that today is one of the most significant dates.

The Democratic Party leader declared that today is a celebration of free speech. The DP leader stated that the 35th anniversary of the Republic of Albania is celebrated on a day when free speech is more violated than ever in 35 years.

Today, Berisha said, government-controlled media have become spokespeople for drug cartels.

 

" Today we celebrate one of the most significant dates, the 35th anniversary of the publication of the first opposition newspaper, RD. This is a celebration of free speech, a celebration of life. I want to express my deepest respect to all those who 35 years ago made the publication of the newspaper RD possible, as a spokesperson for free speech."

"We celebrate this date in conditions when free speech is more violated than ever in 35 years. The media controlled by the government have become instruments of deception of citizens, mouthpieces of drug cartels ," said Berisha./CNA
