The President of PD Sali Berisha has held a conversation with personalities from different fields in Mirdita, where the depopulation of the country will be discussed.

At the beginning of his speech, Berisha focused on the 100th anniversary of relations with the USA, stating that, in 30 years, the greatest achievements of Albania-USA relations are related to the government of the Democratic Party.

“Një orë e gjysmë më parë isha para gazetarëve dhe u thash se unë po shkoj në Rrëshen për të festuar 100 vjetorin e marrëdhënieve shqiptaro-amerikane me njerëz të ndershëm, me mirditorë të mençëm, me njerëz me ideale të pastra. Kam shumë kënaqësi së bashku ne sot të nderojmë këtë 100-vjetor me ndjenjën e mirënjohjes më të thellë ndaj vendit të madh të lirisë i cili ka bërë më shumë se çdo vend dhe komb tjetër për lirinë e shqiptarëve që nga viti 1920, presidenti Ëilson grisi, hodhi në kosh projekte të cilat copëtonin edhe Shqipërinë.

Historia 30-vjeçare, sigurisht që SHBA kontribuuan më pas në ndërtimin e shtetit shqiptar dhe ndihma e tyre ishte thelbësore me shkollat e shkëlqyera që ngritën në Tiranë dhe Kavajë. Me misionarët e mëdhenj të tyre të cilët bënë gjithçka për të çuar përpara kauzën e arsimit në Shqipëri dhe të zhvillimit të Shqipërisë për të paraqitur atë para publikut dhe administratës amerikane, ndër ta edhe shkrimtarë të mëdhenj të kohës siç ishte Rose Ëilder Lane me të famshme Majat e Shalës që u bë në kohën e vet një nga librat më të lexuar në kohë nëkohën e udhëtimeve.
