According to data from booking platform Trip.com, short trips, around 4 days or less, have increased 34% compared to last year in Europe. These are trips that take advantage of public holidays to move to other cities.

This trend is particularly strong in Italian, French and Spanish customs. Europeans are prioritizing international travel, with the French and British primarily choosing destinations abroad.

Here are the top favorite destinations for short trips in Europe this year:

Barcelona, ??Spain – among the most sought-after destinations for Germans, Italians and French, with important cultural events throughout the year.

Lisbon, Portugal – the most booked destination by the British and also very popular with the Spanish and Germans.

Istanbul, Turkey – very popular with German travelers, thanks to affordable prices and good air connections to many German cities.

Algiers, Algeria – now the number 1 destination for the French, partly due to the easing of entry conditions.
