Coffee lovers around the world now have another opportunity to enjoy their favorite drink.

Those with a keen interest in seeing a glimpse of life in the world's most isolated nation should prepare to travel:

The American chain's last coffee shop in South Korea is located on an observation tower on the border with North Korea, allowing customers to sip their drinks while looking out at the empty view from across the Jo River that separates the two sides.

The cafe is located in the Aegibong Peace Ecopark in Gimpo City, about 20 miles north of the capital Seoul. It is near the Korean Demilitarized Zone, one of the most heavily armed borders in the world.

Customers filled the observation deck outside the cafe on opening day. Those who wanted to avoid the cold huddled inside, sipping coffee.

On a clear day, visitors can expect to see some farms and low-rise buildings in Kaepung County just across the border. With a good pair of binoculars or a camera with ultra-zoom capabilities, visitors may even be able to see people walking around. / CNA
