$120 for an extra ingredient on pizza/ Food Challenge in England

When Sam Panapoulos created what he and his brother called the "Hawaiian" pizza, it was a breach of Italian culinary protocol that would echo through the centuries. It involved adding pineapple to the pizza.

Some six decades later, the question of whether pineapple belongs on pizza is a topic that divides nations, communities, and even families.

Now a pizzeria in Norwich, England, has added color to this food by introducing pineapple to its menu, but at the cost of £100, or about $122.

Surprisingly, this is not the highest price ever charged for a pineapple. A red variant of the fruit went on sale in California for $396, but it is significantly higher than the price a can of canned pineapple would typically cost in a UK supermarket./ CNA
