When is a cat considered elderly?

Our beautiful kitten is a precious and equal member of our family. We cannot imagine our life without her and we want her to live as long as possible.

But cats, like us humans, grow up and at some point pass into the so-called third age.

The lifespan of a cat is 14 to 15 years. However, this depends on many factors such as race, hereditary diseases, quality of life and diet. Because unfortunately, stray cats tend to live much shorter lives than domesticated cats due to the hardships they have to face in the outside world.

But when is a cat considered senior?

The correspondence in human years is approximately as follows:

? A 6-month-old cat is like a 10-year-old human
? A 1-year-old cat is like a 15-year-old
? A 2-year-old cat is like a 24-year-old
? A 5-6-year-old cat is like a 35- 40 years old
? A 10-year-old or older cat has exceeded 55 human years
