Realized for the first time / Scientists communicate with a female whale

For the first time, scientists have managed to establish communication with a female humpback whale, using "tongue" her. 

Experts from the University of California, Davis, and the SETI Institute (Search for Extraterrestrial Life Forms) have not yet managed to talk to the magnificent creatures from the ocean, but they have made some small accounts. 

They left off the coast of Alaska and broadcast the so-called "contact call" in the ocean, to check if any of the whales will respond to them.

"Contact Calls" are similar to human greetings, and whales use them to inform other members of their species of their presence and exact location, explains Brenda McGowan, a professor at the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine.

When the signal was transmitted, a female whale named Twain swam up to the ship and surrounded it, and for the next 20 minutes the scientists broadcast the same "call" 36 times at different intervals.

Twain answered it every time, even at similar intervals. In other words, if the scientists waited ten seconds before calling Twain back, she would also wait ten seconds before answering them./CNA
