Motorcycle theft in Thessaloniki/ 16-year-old of Albanian origin arrested

Two minors in Thessaloniki are accused of stealing ten motorcycles, using, among other things, passepartout keys.

According to details from the Greek media 'Protothema', one of the citizens is a 17-year-old Greek and his 16-year-old accomplice, of Albanian origin, who fell into the hands of the Police when they attempted to steal a private truck from the Stavroupoli area and were arrested in the act.

After their arrest, a criminal case was opened against them by the Kordelio-Evosmos Criminal Investigation and Prosecution Department for theft cases.

As it turned out, a short while ago the two juveniles had attempted to steal a two-wheeled motorcycle from the Evosmos area, but they were spotted and fled.

The police investigation revealed that, from late May to early August this year, they took ten two-wheeled motorbikes from various areas of western Thessaloniki, of which eight were recovered and returned to their owners.

In fact, this was not the first time the 17-year-old had been arrested, as on July 8, together with his Albanian accomplice, he had attempted to steal another private truck and a motorcycle in the Ampelokipi-Menemeni area.

Three master keys, which they used to steal two-wheeled motorcycles, were found and confiscated in their possession. The arrested persons will be taken to the competent Prosecutor for the case. /CNA
