The police have come out with an official reaction regarding the case of the woman who poisoned herself with phototoxin, after they had opened a derogatory profile on the social network "TikTok".

The Blues inform that the 41-year-old with the initials BL filed a complaint about this profile in December 2022.

After this report, investigations started at the prosecutor's office, while the police declare that the 41-year-old woman did not make other reports about the fake profile.

The announcement states that on January 2 of this year, they were informed by the hospital about the self-poisoning of the citizen, who then died.

Police statement:

In relation to a news story published in the media, about a citizen who lost her life after allegedly consuming phototoxin, due to bullying, we clarify that:

On 02.01.2024, at 16:30, we were informed by the hospital services that the BL citizen, 41 years old, who was suspected of having consumed the poisonous substance photoxine, even though she had received medical help, could not live.  

The Local Directorate of the Durrës Police has carried out all actions with an investigative group, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, and the materials have been referred to the Prosecutor's Office. 

We clarify that in December 2022, the BL citizen reported that a fake address with her name was opened on social networks.

For the report made in December 2022, the Police has carried out all actions and has referred the materials to the Prosecutor's Office and the case is under investigation at the Prosecutor's Office. After this report, there was no report or concern from the citizen B. L, for this case.  

At the direction of the Durrës Prosecutor's Office, investigations are continuing for the complete clarification of the circumstances of this case.

Meanwhile, intensive investigations continue to identify and bring to the fore the legal responsibility of the citizens who have misused the data of the citizen BL/ CNA
