The court of Durrës has left Captain Flamur Aliu and trawler mechanic Nuri Xheka in prison, arrested two days ago for trafficking 80,000 liters of diesel.

In his testimony, Captain Flamur Aliu explained that the oil was not bought for the purpose of smuggling, but because the ship's reserves had ended and they needed it to return to Albania. He added that he has worked honestly all his life and has not broken the law.

Captain Flamur Aliu and mechanic Nuri Xheka were arrested two days ago, August 4.

The captain and the mechanic had anchored the weighbridge without announcing at the former shipyard in the Port of Durrës.

Peshkarexha went into the sea to get a quantity of 80 thousand liters of contraband oil, while the GSP was also turned off.

Meanwhile, the administrator of the trawler, Alban Malindi, remains wanted./ CNA.al
