Attempted to traffic cannabis seeds/ 24-year-old arrested at the Port of Durres

The border police at the Port of Durres have cracked down on a case of narcotics trafficking.

As a result, 24-year-old AK was arrested, and during the search, approximately 3,250 suspected cannabis seeds were found on him.

The seeds found along with some equipment suspected of being used for the cultivation of narcotic plants were seized as material evidence.

A 24-year-old man was arrested in flagrante delicto by the Border Police in Albania for attempting to traffic cannabis seeds.  

Approximately 3,250 Cannabis seeds, equipment suspected of being used to cultivate narcotic plants, and the van in which he attempted to traffic them were seized.

The Border Police Services of the Port of Durres, as a result of the intensification of entry/exit controls, based on risk analysis, as well as on information obtained operationally, organized and finalized, in cooperation with specialists from the Narcotics Investigation Sector of the Durres Border Police, the operation codenamed "Prevention 2".  

As a result of the operation, citizen AK, 24 years old, resident of Tirana, was arrested in flagrante delicto for the criminal offense of "Drug Trafficking".

Police services, during the physical search of this citizen and the search of his van, at the entrance to the Republic of Albania, found several bags with approximately 3,250 suspected narcotic Cannabis Sativa seeds and a device suspected of being used for the cultivation of narcotic plants.          

The procedural materials were referred to the Durrës Prosecutor's Office for further action.
