Durrës Police chain of command suspended after tragic accident

After the tragic accident that occurred yesterday in which two minors lost their lives, the Durrës Police chain of command has been suspended.

The police announce that the Director of Durrës Police, Arben Tafa, the Deputy Director for Order and Security, Zija Sulaj, and the Chief of Roads, Kreshnik Skëndo, have been suspended from duty.

The chain of command has been suspended for poor performance in fulfilling duties.

 

 

Police notification

 

Given the very serious accident that occurred yesterday in the city of Durrës, as a result of which 2 minors lost their lives and another was injured, the General Director of the State Police, Major General Skender Hita, in accordance with the State Police Regulation, has suspended from duty, for poor performance in fulfilling duties:  

-Director of the Durrës Local Police Directorate, Chief Afrim Tafa;           

-Deputy Director for Public Order and Security of the Durrës DVP, Chief Commissioner Zija Sulaj;  

-Head of the Traffic Police Sector of the Durrës DVP, Chief Commissioner Kreshnik Skëndo.            

Also, immediately after the event, the General Director of the State Police ordered the Traffic Police Directorate to establish a group of experts who went to the scene to analyze the causes and circumstances of the accident.          

Meanwhile, the Directorate of Professional Standards at the General Directorate of the State Police has launched a disciplinary investigation to assess whether or not there is responsibility among the ranks of Police employees for this case.
