The police in Rinas arrested the 23-year-old man with the initials DG, after 1 firearm, a pistol with military ammunition, was found in his bag.

Police Notification: 

KK Rinas/Intensification of controls, prevented an attempt to traffic firearms from Albania to Italy

The coded police operation "Scanning" is finalized. 1 firearm pistol with combat ammunition is seized.

The owner of the weapon (a Kosovar citizen) is arrested in the act.

As a result of dedicated controls, based on risk analysis and police intelligence information, intensified due to the flow in/out, the Border Police services of PKK Rinas, in cooperation with the Security services at Rinas airport, finalized the coded police operation "Scan", in the framework of which an attempt to traffic firearms from Albania to Italy was foiled.

During this operation, the Kosovar citizen DG, 23 years old, resident of Pejë, was caught red-handed and put in handcuffs, on the way out of Albania.

From the control through the scanner, in the bag of this citizen, 1 firearm, a pistol with combat ammunition, was found and seized as material evidence.

The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction in Tirana, for further action, for the criminal offense "Trafficking of weapons and ammunition" ./CNA
