Tried to cross 1.2 tons of oil across the border/ 39-year-old arrested

The Border Police Services of the Kukes Local Directorate for Border and Migration, in continuation of monitoring the green border with the aim of preventing and combating cross-border crimes, have made it possible to crack down on a case of attempted hydrocarbon smuggling.

The Border Police Services have stopped a van type vehicle on the Pakisht-Kukës rural road, driven by citizen VS, 39 years old, resident of Kolesian, Kukës, where after checking inside the van, the Police found and seized approximately 1.2 tons of diesel smuggled through Pakisht, outside the border crossing points and customs services, avoiding border and customs control.

The amount of fuel was seized as material evidence, while the driver of the vehicle was arrested in flagrante delicto for the criminal offenses of "Smuggling of excise goods" and "Illegal crossing of the state border."/ CNA
