They took money from students/ Six lecturers and a realtor were arrested in

Six lecturers and a realtor at the Faculty of Education Sciences at "Aleksandër Xhuvani" University have been arrested.

After a months-long investigation, it was discovered that lecturers set passing grades in exchange for bribes.

The lecturers Ornela Bilali, Zyhra Gripshi, Adrian Shëngjergji, Beatriçe Gani, Edlira Gugu, Florinda Tarusha and Monika Hodaj are under investigation for corruption.

Realtor Gazmend Hodaj, who took money from students and gave it to lecturers, was also arrested.

The teachers benefited from the students sums of money ranging from 150 to 500 euros.

They misused their duties by getting money to pass the exams to the students, 6 lecturers were put in handcuffs and the work continues to catch 1 other.

The citizen who took the money to give to the teachers is also in handcuffs.

During the inspection, the student's exam theses were found and seized.

Specialists of the Section for the Investigation of Economic and Financial Crimes, after the denunciation made to the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction Elbasan by the journalists of the investigative show, for a case of misuse of duty by irregularly passing the exams a 31-year-old student, with the aim of obtaining sums of money, organized and finalized the coded police operation "Teza".

As part of the police operation under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, the citizens were arrested red-handed: MH, 49 years old, BG, 58 years old, FT, 56 years old, A. Sh., 61 years old, OB, 50 years old, ZG, 37 years old and GH, 59 years old.
Also, the 51-year-old citizen of EG, teacher, was wanted.

These citizens with the duty of pedagogues have misused their duties, by irregularly passing the exams to a 31-year-old student, in order to benefit from sums of money that the GH citizen received.

From the control in the teachers' offices, the theses of the student's exams were found and seized as material evidence.

The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecution at the Court of First Instance of Elbasan General Jurisdiction, for the criminal offenses "Abuse of duty" and "Passive corruption of persons exercising public functions" ./CNA
