They legalized the hotel in Saranda/ 8 officials of IVMT and ANA were arrested

Eight officials of IVMT and ASHK were arrested on Thursday evening after 11 arrest orders from the Prosecutor's Office of Saranda.

The arrests are related to the case opened earlier against some high-ranking officials in these institutions for cases of construction without permission in Saranda and Ksamil, favoritism against profit and abuse of office.

Specifically, the officials are accused of having, in violation of the law, allowed the construction of a 7-story building (hotel) near the coastline in the city of Saranda without a building permit and subsequently proceeded with the legalization of this building.

The Prosecutor's Office at the First Court of General Jurisdiction in Sarandë, in cooperation with the judicial police of Sarandë Kom.Pol. and the Local Police Directorate of Vlorë, is carrying out with high intensity the procedural actions in function of the criminal proceedings no. 37 of 2024, registered for the offense criminal "falsification of documents"; "illegal construction" "abuse of duty", provided respectively by articles 186, 199/a/4 and 248 of the Criminal Code.

As a result of the investigative actions so far, reasonable doubts have been obtained about the existence of some criminal offenses committed by functionaries and former functionaries of the local government, Saranda municipality.

After the administration of the evidence in the function of this criminal proceeding, the prosecutor ordered the detention of 11 citizens with various state duties and functions, of which it was possible to execute the detention of 8 of them, identified as follows;

Ermen Stroka, with the duties of Specialist/engineer in the Cartography Sector at DVASHK Sarandë, .

Erald Lika , with the duties of Specialist/engineer in the Cartography Sector at DVASHK Saranda,

Ina Papa , with specialist duties in the local Directorate of Ashk Sarande

Viktor Qesari, with the duty of inspector at IVMT, Saranda Municipality,

Tonin Simoni , inspector at IVMT, Saranda Municipality,

Oltion Durmishti , inspector at IVMT, Saranda Municipality,

Denis Balili, as a specialist/inspector in the Territory Inspection Sector at the Vlorë IKMT Regional Directorate,

Manushaqe Saliko , with the duties of specialist/inspector in the Territory Inspection Sector at the Regional Directorate IKMT Vlora

The search for the detention of three other citizens continues from the judicial police.

The persons, for example, in the exercise of their functional duties, have, in violation of the law, allowed the construction of a 7-story building (hotel) near the coastline in the city of Saranda without a building permit, and subsequently proceeded with the legalization of this building.

The Prosecutor's Office at the First Court with General Jurisdiction in Sarandë is continuing the investigative actions to identify and bring to criminal responsibility also other persons involved in illegal actions and legal violations in the exercise of state duties.

We remind you that two years ago, former local leaders, topographers, managers of the urban planning office and the construction police in the municipality of Saranda were arrested. Some of the former officials for whom the prosecution has issued arrest warrants that were expected to be executed today, are still being sought while the names of those arrested are expected to be revealed.
