New details have come to light from the assassination attempt in Shkodër where two people were injured, citizens GJ. Ndërshtiqaj and GJ. Nika.

The wounded were shot by a volley of bullets, with 106 bullets, four automatic magazines, but they were hit by two bullets, each of them.

After the serious incident, three Kalashnikov assault rifles were found in the burned vehicle of the perpetrators, while they were seized by the police as material evidence.

The two citizens were shot after they got out of their vehicle, near a bar.

It has not yet been possible to identify the perpetrators. Gj. Ndërshtiqaj had his service weapon but was unable to retaliate.

They are hiding behind their car which caught fire from the many bullets.

The perpetrators with a four-wheel drive vehicle without license plates allegedly followed the injured from behind and the latter, after stopping near a bar, immediately shot them.

While the injured have given their testimony, as they are out of danger for their lives. They stated that they did not manage to see who shot them as they were hit immediately as soon as they got out of the vehicle.

They also added that they have no conflict and do not know the motive why it happened and who committed the assassination against them.

 "As soon as we got out of the car, we heard gunshots. We have not been able to see who they were who shot us with guns. We don't have conflicts with other people and we don't know the reason why they shot us. At the moment when the shooting started, we moved quickly trying to escape. We stayed behind the car until they left."

According to police sources, the target was citizen Gj. Nika. It is still unclear what is the motive of this serious event. The police have escorted several people and are investigating the incident.

Last evening, the head of the State Police, Muhamet Rrumbullaku, went to Shkodër to investigate the assassination attempt on police officer Gj. Ndërshtiqaj and his brother-in-law Gj. Nika./ CNA
