Resisted and hit the Traffic Police officer/ 31-year-old arrested in Tirana

A 31-year-old man was arrested after resisting and hitting a Traffic Police officer while on duty. The incident occurred today at the Unaza e Re roundabout, on “Sotir Caci” street in Tirana.

The employee of the Tirana Traffic Police Commissariat, on duty, signaled a vehicle to stop, after noticing uncontrolled movement on the road. The driver of the vehicle did not obey the order of the Police officer to stop, but continued driving. Continuing to drive, the driver of the vehicle dragged the Police officer for several meters, endangering his life.

The police officer followed and stopped the vehicle, and asked the driver to present the documentation. The driver of the vehicle objected and then hit the police officer, causing physical injuries.

The Police Services accompanied the driver of the vehicle to the Police Station, and at the conclusion of the procedural actions in the case, the Crime Investigation specialists of Police Station No. 4 arrested him in flagrante delicto, specifically citizen FK, 31 years old, resident of Tirana.

The procedural materials were referred to the Tirana Prosecutor's Office for further action./CNA
