The head of the internal regime in Lushnja, Irakli Leka, is arrested.

The arrest was made this evening after it was discovered that he was receiving money in exchange for temporary leave for prisoners.

The case was made public on an investigative show, as the employee of Bug in Lushnje was filmed receiving 700 euros in exchange for a 5-day leave for a prisoner.

Announcement from the Directorate of Prisons:

In relation to the footage broadcast on the investigative show "Stop", which shows a Prison Police employee receiving monetary values ??in exchange for a rewarding pass, the General Directorate of Prisons, in cooperation with the Internal Control Service of Prisons, and under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office against Corruption and Organized Crime, has immediately taken action to identify and arrest him.

The identified employee is Commissioner I. L, acting as head of internal regime at the Lushnja Penitentiary Institution.

The General Directorate of Prisons strongly condemns any illegal and corrupt act that contradicts the ethics and mission of the penitentiary system.
