The Fier Prosecutor's Office and Police, through a statement to the media, have provided information regarding the crackdown on pyramid schemes, in which 6 people were arrested.

In the media release, it was announced that citizens were being instructed on Telegram on how to invest in cryptocurrencies and were promised quick profits.

The police announced that the operation extended to 4 cities, Tirana, Fier, Dibër and Gramsh.

Further, the police announced that during the searches, 15 mobile phones, 11 computer units and significant amounts of money were found and seized.

Result of a months-long investigation. Aimed at disrupting an online fraud scheme. Operation Fier, Dibër, Tirana and Gramsh. A network of individuals acting as a network. Citizens were promised safe and quick profits. They were instructed on Telegram on how to invest in cryptocurrencies. The use of cryptocurrency was made due to the difficulties it has in tracking and the confusion in the information it has.

80 checks of people and homes. Three people were arrested and handcuffed in the bush, one in Tirana and 2 in Divjaka. 2 citizens were declared wanted. All suspected of "Fraudulent pyramid schemes and computer fraud". The scheme operated on the classic pyramid model. Citizens who invested were instructed to bring at least 5 other people. 15 mobile phones, 11 computer units and significant amounts of money. 6 cryptocurrency accounts were immediately frozen.
