Elderly man in Korça found dead by postal worker/Family members

New details have emerged from the murder of a 78-year-old man yesterday in the village of Bulgarec in Korça. According to information, the body of citizen GV was found dead on Thursday morning by a postal worker who distributes pensions.

He called the 78-year-old man to come out and, when he didn't get a response, he notified his neighbors. They then opened the door to the house, where the elderly man's lifeless body was found in one of the rooms.

The forensic examination has determined that the 78-year-old had a deep wound to the head, caused by a sharp instrument, which led to his death. It is suspected that the perpetrator and the victim had fought before the 78-year-old was shot to death with a sharp instrument. Police and experts returned to the scene today, while the weapon used to commit the murder has not yet been found.

The questioning of the victim's family and relatives continues, but so far their statements have not provided any valuable information that would guide the police towards identifying the perpetrator. /CNA
