Explosive connected to a cell phone/ Police issue official statement

On 20.05.2025, at around 22:30, in neighborhood no. 1, in the place called "Veliera", a package with suspected explosives was found. 

Immediately after receiving the notification, the Police services went to the given address and established a security perimeter, while the RENEA anti-explosive unit carried out actions to deactivate the package with explosives that was connected to a cell phone attached to a natriban.  

The investigative group, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, is working to clarify the circumstances of the case, identify and capture the perpetrator(s). 

The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Durrës, for further action./ CNA
