Convicted of serious injury/ 39-year-old Albanian extradited from Greece

An Albanian citizen convicted of intentional serious injury is arrested in Greece and extradited to our country.

Following the cooperation of the Interpol Directorate with its counterpart offices, for the capture and extradition of internationally wanted persons, the Albanian citizen MD, 39 years old, resident of Pojan, Korça, has been arrested in Greece.

The 39-year-old was arrested by Greek police authorities with the aim of extradition to Albania, pursuant to an international arrest warrant issued by the Interpol Directorate, after the Tirana Court of Appeal sentenced him to 5 years and 6 months in prison for the criminal offense of "Intentional serious injury". (He still has 4 years, 5 months and 18 days left to serve).

Investigations show that citizen Marinel Demiri was involved in a conflict with sharp objects in the village of Pojan, Korça, during which citizen AZ, 75 years old, lost his life, who had intervened to help his son during the conflict with the youths./CNA
