The Prosecutor's Office of Tirana has today issued the claim for Mejit Picari and his daughter Dhurata Picari, accused of murdering 41-year-old Kudret Saliaj.

It is learned that the Prosecutor's Office has asked for life imprisonment for Mejit Picari, while for his daughter 35 years in prison.

They are accused of the murder that happened in June 2021, after a family conflict.

Mezhit Picari, a former policeman, entered the bar and opened fire on the groom, while the lawyer Adriatik Cama, who was at a table with the victim, was also injured.

The murder of Kudrejt Saliaj by his ex-father-in-law came after a long history of conflicts in the family, where the victim and Dhurata Picari accused each other of adultery.

The couple had three children and Saliaj had asked for a divorce from his wife.

Dhurata Picari, accused of being an accomplice of her father in the execution of 41-year-old Kudret Saliaj, was previously accused by her children of violence. /CNA.al
