Apartment, land, premises/ Assets of a person convicted of drug trafficking are

The Durrës Prosecutor's Office seizes the assets of the citizen S.Gj. convicted in Albania and Italy for "Participation in a criminal organization in the trafficking of narcotics"

At the request of the Prosecution at the Court of First Instance of Durrës General Jurisdiction, on the basis of the Court's Decision, the seizure of the assets of the citizen S.Gj. under investigation for the criminal offense of "Cleaning the proceeds of a criminal offense or criminal activity" provided by Article 287 of the Criminal Code.

The citizen in question has engaged in illegal activity and with the Decision of the Court of First Instance for Serious Crimes in Tirana, he has pleaded guilty and been sentenced for the criminal offense of "Trafficking in narcotics" committed in collaboration and more than once, in based on article 283/a-2 of the Criminal Code and 406 of the Criminal Procedure Code with 7 years and 4 months of imprisonment.

The judicial police have conducted investigations and evidence and facts have been obtained, that the citizen S.Gj. and his family members, own assets that are not justified from an economic point of view and that there are reasonable suspicions based on evidence and facts that these assets derive from the illegal and criminal activity of the citizen S.Gj, for which the imposition of measure of property insurance, preventive seizure based on Article 174 of the Criminal Procedure Code.

The investments made in the field of immovable and movable assets made by the citizen S.Gj. and his family members, are not justified by their income and the unjustified difference from legal sources is in the amount of about 30 million ALL.

Verifications were made and it turned out that the Court of Milan in Italy has sentenced the citizen S.Gj to 24 years and 2 months of imprisonment for the criminal offense of "Participation in a criminal organization in the trafficking of narcotics" and the Interpol Office Tirana has declared wanted for the purpose of extradition of the citizen S.Gj. in Italy.

For these reasons, pursuant to Article 274 et seq. of the Criminal Procedure Code, the Court has decided to assign the amount of preventive sequestration for the assets:

1- Apartment with 2 (two) floors and garage with construction area of ??150 m2, built without permission and self-declared by citizen S.Gj, located in Shijak;

2- Premises "Unit" with 1 (one) floor, built without permission and self-declared by A.Gj. located in Shijak, with a construction area of ??96 m2;

3- Land "Arë" with a surface area of ??4,000 m2 in the village of Lalëz-Išëm Administrative Unit of the Durrës district;

4- Land "Are" with a surface area of ??2,000 m2, in the Administrative unit of Ishem, Durrës district; AND

5- Land "Are" with a surface area of ??2002 m2 located in the Administrative unit of Išem in the Durrës district./ CNA
