Police action/ The truck full of euros and pounds was seized

Another case of an attempt to introduce into Albania a large amount of money in euros and pounds, allegedly obtained as a result of criminal activity, was struck.

The coded police operation "Shuma" is finalized, thanks to the informational intelligence provided by the investigative structures of the General Directorate of the State Police.

The operation, by the Criminal Police Department, in cooperation with the Border Police of the port of Durrës and the Sector for the Investigation of Economic Crimes in the Local Directorate of the Durrës Police.

Operacioni, në vazhdën e operacioneve të tjera të zhvilluara muajt e fundit, për goditjen e tentativës për futjen në Shqipëri, të shumave të mëdha të parave në euro e paund dhe të tentativave për të futur kontrabandë naftë dhe mallrat të tjera për të cilat paguhet akcizë.

Sekuestrohen 150 000 euro dhe 164 735 paund britanik.

Ky është rasti i 5-të i tentativës për futjen e shumave të mëdha të parave të padeklaruara, i goditur nga Policia e Shtetit, gjatë muajve të fundit.

Vihet në pranga drejtuesi i kamionit që transportonte paratë dhe tentoi t’i fuste ato në Shqipëri, nëpërmjet portit të Durrësit, pa i deklaruar.

Strukturat hetimore të Drejtorisë së Përgjithshme të Policisë së Shtetit, në vijim të operacioneve të njëpasnjëshme të zhvilluara në portin e Durrësit, falë inteligjencës informative për një shtetas që po tentonte të fuste në Shqipëri një shumë të madhe parash në euro dhe në paund, kanë organizuar punën me qëllim goditjen e këtij rasti.

Në bashkëpunim me Policinë Kufitare të portit Durrës dhe Sektorin për Hetimin e Krimeve Ekonomike e Financiare në DVP Durrës, kanë organizuar dhe finalizuar operacionin policor të koduar “Shuma”, në kuadër të të cilit u kalua për kontroll të detajuar, në vijën e dytë, kamioni që drejtohej nga shtetasi D. H., 53 vjeç, banues në Tiranë, i cili udhëtonte nga Italia për në portin e Durrësit.

During the detailed inspection, the Police found 150,000 euros and 164,735 British pounds hidden in the cab of the truck, which were seized as material evidence.

In cooperation with the Prosecutor's Office, the work continues for the clarification and complete documentation of this case, the identification and capture of the possessor/s of these sums of money in euros and pounds.

The materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office, for further action, for the criminal offenses "Failure to declare money and valuables at the border", "Concealment of income" and "Cleaning of the proceeds of a criminal offense or criminal activity".
