Zelensky: Ukraine is strengthening short-range air defense against drone attacks

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Ukraine is strengthening short-range air defense systems to better cope with the constant waves of drone attacks coming from Russian forces.

He underlined that these systems are essential for protecting cities, border areas and critical infrastructure from threats from these unmanned vehicles.

Zelensky indicated that this reinforcement is part of a broader plan to improve air defense capabilities, including new weapons and command structures to combat drones used in daily attacks.

The president has previously stressed that drone attacks, including Shahed types, are one of the main threats to Ukraine's air defenses and that the country must continue to increase its interception capabilities to protect citizens and infrastructure./CNA
