Zelensky: Next Ukraine-Russia-US talks could be held in March

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Thursday that he had spoken with US envoy Steve Witkoff and President Donald Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, following peace talks in Geneva.

Zelensky said the next round of trilateral talks between Ukraine, Russia and the United States will likely be held in the United Arab Emirates capital, Abu Dhabi, in early March.

Speaking after a Ukrainian delegation led by Kiev's chief negotiator, Rustem Umerov, met with the US delegation in Geneva, Switzerland, Zelensky said there was greater readiness for the upcoming trilateral format.

"We need to finalize everything that has been achieved in terms of real security guarantees and prepare for a meeting at the leadership level ," Zelensky said.

The Kiev delegation met with Witkoff and Kushner earlier today to discuss a prosperity package for Ukraine's reconstruction. Russian President Vladimir Putin's special envoy, Kirill Dmitriev, also met with U.S. representatives in Geneva on Thursday, according to Russian state media. /CNA
