British right-wing politician Nigel Farage received an undisclosed £5 million donation from cryptocurrency billionaire Christopher Harborne shortly before announcing he would run in the 2024 election, The Guardian newspaper has revealed.
Farage had said he had no intention of running for MP, but made a 180-degree turn in June 2024, just weeks after receiving the donation from businessman Christopher Harborne, who lives in Thailand.
In July 2024, Farage was elected as an MP for the first time and has since stated that he now hopes to become Prime Minister of the United Kingdom in the next general election.
Farage confirmed to the Daily Telegraph that he had received the donation, stating that it was intended to cover his personal security costs. To date, neither Harbour nor Farage have spoken publicly about the £5 million donation.
