Over 120 thousand euros seized, four Romanian citizens detained

The Kosovo Police announces that, in cooperation with Kosovo Customs, it has seized a quantity of smuggled money at the "Dheu i Bardhë" Border Crossing Point.

According to the official announcement, during the second line check, a vehicle that had entered Kosovo through Serbia was stopped for a detailed check. There were four Romanian citizens in the vehicle.

During the operation, over 122 thousand euros and over 4 thousand Romanian lei were found and seized.

The Border Police of the Eastern Regional Directorate, SPK Dheu i Bardhë, in cooperation with Kosovo Customs, during the second line control, stopped a black BMW vehicle for detailed inspection.
The vehicle had entered the Republic of Kosovo through Serbia, while the driver and three passengers, all Romanian citizens, were in it.
The suspects initially stated that they had nothing to declare. However, during the detailed inspection by police officers and Kosovo Customs officers, using specialized equipment, including a surveillance video camera, a considerable amount of money hidden in different parts of the vehicle was discovered.
Over 122,000 euros and over 4,000 Romanian lei were found and seized. The seized monetary assets were handed over to Kosovo Customs for further legal procedures.
The Kosovo Police confirms its commitment to combating illegal activities that harm the country's economy and the interests of citizens, reaffirming its determination to act effectively in preventing and combating any illegal activity in the territory of the Republic of Kosovo.
