Vance: Iranian nuclear weapon could trigger arms race

United States Vice President JD Vance has stated that talks with Iran are continuing and that, according to him, significant progress has been achieved in the negotiation process, following discussions with President Donald Trump.

He described the negotiations as a simple proposal, reaffirming Washington's position that Iran should not acquire nuclear weapons.

According to him, a nuclear weapon by Tehran would encourage other countries to follow the same path, increasing the risk of a global arms race.

Vance warned that Iran could serve as the first domino in a chain of developments that would weaken international security.

Despite these positions, he emphasized that the dialogue with the Iranian side has brought steps forward, without providing further details on the content of the negotiations or possible agreements. / CNA
