The girl who has been missing for almost four years appears at a police station

An Arizona girl who disappeared nearly four years ago has turned up at a police station in Montana.

She turned herself in to a police department about 40 miles from the US-Canada border, the BBC reports citing police in Glendale, Arizona.

"Miracles do exist," her mother Jessica Nunez said in a Facebook post.

Alicia disappeared from home on September 15, 2019, then 14 years old.

She left a note that read: "I ran away. I'll be back, I swear. I'm sorry."

At a news conference Tuesday, Glendale police spokesman Jose Santiago said Alicia, now 18, walked into the Montana police station alone and introduced herself.

It is unclear how Alicia got to Montana, which is more than 1,200 miles (1,900 km) from her home, and the case remains under investigation./ CNA.al
