Fired from office two days ago/ Former Thai Prime Minister with 200 designer

Former Thai Prime Minister Phaetongtarn Shinawatra was dismissed from office a few days ago, but this is not the only issue she has made headlines for.

Shinawatra had declared assets of over $400 million, her party said, including more than 200 designer handbags worth over $2 million and at least 75 luxury watches worth almost $5 million.

Paetongtarn, the youngest daughter of telecommunications billionaire and former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra, took office as the fourth member of the clan to lead a Thai government in 20 years.

Her other assets included properties in London and Japan, among others.

She also declared liabilities of nearly five billion baht, according to the document posted by local media, giving her a net worth of 8.9 billion baht ($258 million).

Her predecessor in office as prime minister, Srettha Thavisin, declared assets of 985 million baht when he was dismissed by Thailand's constitutional court, down from 1.02 billion baht at the start of his term./CNA
